The AXiS Footboard Riser is the perfect addition for drummers who want to customize the feel and angle of their footboards, especially drummers looking for a steeper footboard angle and a more aggressive playing style. This precision-engineered component allows you to adjust your pedal’s action by increasing the angle of the footboard by either 1/4” or 1/2”. The Footboard Riser provides a steeper point of contact for drummers looking for more power and a longer beater swing.

Our Footboard Riser is available in silver and compatible with all generations of AXiS Pedals including Longboard, Wideboard, and Shortboard pedals. No modification or alteration to your pedals!

Why does your footboard angle matter?

  • A steeper footboard (more angle) allows for more forceful strokes, enabling faster, more powerful foot movements. The steeper angle encourages drummers to use larger muscle groups (e.g. calves) for speed, which can reduce strain on the foot and ankle. Some drummers prefer this setting for fast, aggressive patterns while enabling quicker, more controlled beater strokes.
  • A flatter footboard (less angle) can increase sensitivity, offering more responsive control, and allowing for lighter, quicker strokes and fast, precise footwork. Additionally, you can get more speed with less effort by playing in a more neutral position which requires less leg muscle engagement, making it easier to maintain speed over longer periods without fatigue. Perfect for drummers who need rapid foot movements while limiting strain, contributing to a more relaxed feel during quick strokes.
